You have functional/esthetic options as to the look of your book — paperback, hardback (with or without dust jacket); a wide range of trim sizes (e.g., 6” x 9” or 8” x 10” or many other choices); paper color (white, creme) & weight, etc. So you have options.
IngramSpark has international reach. So say you live in the US and some of your potential book-buyers live abroad. If someone orders your book in, say, the UK, it can be printed in the UK. Quicker, easier, non-exorbitant shipping costs to pay.
Once the book is in print, you can order as many or as few copies as desired (no pile-up of your books in the garage).
Your book is automatically distributed to scores of online retailers (not only Amazon—lots more, too) as well as the option for being picked up by local bookstores and other brick-and-mortar outlets.
