This online sacred Sanctuary is facilitated by Naomi Rose — Book Developer & Creative Midwife, and the creator of the Writing from the Deeper Self approach.

It’s designed to run for 10+ weeks to help writers like you access deeper creativity and consistent writing through shared silent sessions and guided attunements.

Additional benefits include:

  • Encounter your deeper Self through this protected writing space.

  • Opportunity to build a consistent, trustworthy writing habit.

  • Access deeper creative Self-awareness.

  • Write alongside other committed writers in the intimacy of shared silence.

  • Experience rituals + guided attunements to shift your consciousness into inspiration.

Write deeply.

Write with inwardly guided purpose.

Write supported.

We’ll meet each Monday morning for 10+ weeks, we meet online for 90 minutes (9:00-10:30 am Pacific Time). This gives you time and space to be with yourself deeply in silence, in the company of other soulful writers. We gather as a sacred group in silence, listening to ourselves as the opening portal brings you within. (Listen to a past portal recording, below.)

Come with an existing project — or just see what emerges onto the page. Wherever you are is welcome.

HOW IT WORKS:

the 3-part process

We gather as a sacred group in silence, moving through three chapters each session:

1. the Opening Portal

Soft watercolor painting of a pink rose

Each week, I provide an inspiring attunement—a meditation, beautiful music, poetry, story, or healing suggestion—to shift you into the realm of consciousness where your own inspiration waits.

EXPERIENCE IT YOURSELF

2. Sacred Writing Time

Then you write in silence while I “hold the space” and the shared energy of the unified field supports you. This is where your “Hidden Treasure” can make itself known through your writing.

3. Closure Ritual

“[I received] a reinforcement and a nurturing and fertilizing of the concept, ‘Yes, I can honor what's inside me.’ And that it's an honorable, important place to put one's attention. That I have something to give that's of service, and it's real—not just my imagination or my wish. It has a realness and aliveness. That's a huge gift that you've given me and all of us.”

— R.A., participant in the Winter-Spring 2025 Co-Writing Sanctuary

I bring you into a completion ritual so you can honor what you’ve written, and can optimally continue your writing at home between Sanctuary sessions with confidence and trust in your creative being.

Thank you for opening this up for me. You’ve blessedly given me the insight into my self to create space and time and intention (again) to ground my writing into this reality of my life. I so appreciate you and reminding me of this process.”

* NOTE on the Celebration Gathering:

This is an optional opportunity to share selected pieces from your Sanctuary writing journey. Participants can read aloud or simply discuss their process, and responses focus on what listeners received rather than on critique. This celebration honors both your individual creative journey and our collective writing experience.

Sharing your writing (if you choose to—entirely up to you) enables you to:

  • Come forth with and own what you’ve written—to, in effect, exclaim, “Look at who I turned out to be!”

  • Experience deep pleasure in reading your writing selection aloud in (and reflecting) your own voice.

  • Recognize your writing as a gift—a light that illuminates your listeners.

  • Receive appreciative feedback and the blessings of listeners’ responses (no critiques).

We do need to know that what we give our full selves to when writing will be meaningful to others—that we hace communicated something of value in an intimate and relatable way. This, too, brings light. Being able to be reflected well and clearly brings light to the author, and into the world.

I really love the Sanctuary. Wish we could do it twice a week. What a wonderful idea you had, and how well you do it. Thank you so much!”

—Adriana Diaz, author of That Place We All Come From, a novel-in-progress that came to her during a past Co-Writing Sanctuary

Your GORGEOUS ‘Book Mothering’ energy is just the right medicine for me! You always remind me of why I so love to write!”

—Shelley Klammer, author, Collage for Self-Discovery

The group was a true sanctuary! It made it possible for me to return to writing a work that has been essential for me, and which I had let go for too long. I love what I’ve been writing! The atmosphere you created, and to which the other participants contributed, truly brought about a field. That field exists for me even when I’m not in the group and am writing on my own. I feel the presence of the others, and I’m no longer writing alone even when I am alone.

—Deanne Jameson

Why Participating in the Co-Writing Sanctuary Matters

Sometimes it can be difficult to come by real solitude.

It’s not only the need for uninterrupted time and space. It’s also the ability to let the usual mind-concerns go for the time being, and to bring your concentration inward, wholly and receptively. Because who knows what is waiting in the wings of your true being to whisper itself to you, once there is a space to hear?

The Co-Writing Sanctuary is an opportunity for you to discover what wants to be known in and through your writing, and to fully give yourself to the process. And in this way, to bring you light into the world.

This unique Sanctuary is designed to provide you with this sacred space and time, without your having to do anything other than just show up with interest and an available heart. (And paper & pen or laptop at the ready.)

That was probably the best writing group I have ever had, and the most surprising feeling of sanctuary and grace. Your beautiful voice, wise words, kindness, and encouragement . . . what an incredible feat you pulled off, transcending technology, distance, and time to bring us together in such blessed energy.  It feels like such a different time dimension. Such freedom!”

ABOUT YOUR GUIDE, NAOMI ROSE

Warm portrait of Naomi Rose, Book Developer & Creative Midwife, smiling in a natural outdoor setting with purple flowers and greenery, wearing a soft scarf and displaying a welcoming, approachable demeanor

Naomi Rose is a Book Developer & Creative Midwife, with over 30 years in the publications field. She has helped scores of first-time authors write the book of their heart, and get them into print. The daughter of two writers, she has learned much about writing by osmosis as well as formal study. And, recognizing how hard writers can be on themselves (to the point of paralysis, at times), she has worked to develop a healing approach to the creative process — bringing in her aptitude and training as a Healing Conductor in the Sufi lineage of Hazrat Inayat Khan — and to reframe writing as a way to make contact with the innate natural Being of the deeper Self in everyone. To learn more about Naomi and her “Writing from the Deeper Self” approach, see her “About” page.

FAQ

About the Format:

Q: Do I need to attend every live session?

A: While your regular attendance enhances the experience, you will receive recordings of all sessions. This allows you to maintain momentum even if you miss a live gathering.

Q: What if I'm not sure what I want to write about?

A: Perfect! Many participants discover their writing direction through the sanctuary experience. The structured silence and guided attunement often reveal unexpected creative pathways.

Q: Is this like a writing workshop with critiques?

A: No, this is distinctly different. The Sanctuary is a space for generation and discovery, not critique. While there's an optional sharing celebration at the end of the program, the weekly sessions are focused on creating, not reviewing or interpreting.

About the Process:

Q: How is this different from writing alone at home?

A: The Sanctuary combines three powerful elements: (1) the power of silent space-holding, (2) group energy, and (3) structured sacred time. Many participants report accessing deeper levels of creativity than when writing alone.

Q: What if I get stuck during the writing time?

A: The beauty of the Sanctuary is that it removes the pressure to "produce." You're welcome to sit in contemplation, jot notes, or simply stay present. Often, our most significant breakthroughs come through these moments of apparent "stuckness."

Q: Can I work on different projects each week?

A: Absolutely! You can use the time for a single project or explore various writing directions. The space adapts to your creative needs.

Q: Do I need to know ahead of time what I will write?

A: Not unless you want to. You can simply welcome what arises for you in the moment. Sometimes, in the fecund solitude of a concentrated writing time, what has been wanting to get your attention now has the chance. This writing may continue its embryonic growth past the 90-minute session or be complete in its own right. If you do have writing that’s already in formation — whether clearly defined or still finding its form — you certainly can work on that during Sanctuary sessions. Either way, you will gain momentum with your writing, and find valuable new turns in the road that excite you to walk with your pen.

THE FINAL “CELEBRATION” SESSION:*

Q: Do I have to share my writing at the final “Celebration” session [the “plus” in the “10 weeks plus”]?

A: No, only if you want to. Since the 10 weeks take place in silence during the writing time (and before and, largely, after), having the opportunity to share your writing at the completion — and to listen to what your co-participants share — tends to be a fitting conclusion, and indeed a celebration. But you also can attend as a listener-only, if that’s your wish. You don’t have to decide until that time.

* For Full Sanctuary Journey participants only

TECHNICAL & PRACTICAL MATTERS:

Q: What technology do I need?

A: You'll need:

  • A reliable internet connection

  • Zoom access

  • Your preferred writing tools (computer or pen/paper)

Q: What if I live in a different time zone?

A: I offer the recordings-only option specifically for international participants or those who can't attend live sessions. The recordings carry the same sacred energy and can be used to create your own ritual writing time.

Q: Is there a payment plan available?

A: Yes, for the live-participation option. If paying in full is stressful, you can pay in three monthly installments.

Starting Your Book

a guide to navigating the blank page by attending to what’s inside you

This book supports you during the Sanctuary experience.

(You can also read it before.)

Discover how to write your book based on your own natural creative process, which will tell itself to you when you listen.

This unique, person-centered approach lets you use your inner compass and discover your natural creative ways, so you can write the book of your heart in a way that enlarges you rather than depleting you.

Do you long to write a book, yet haven't fully believed you have it in you? Read this book if you:

  • Are writing a book or even considering writing one

  • Need inspiration, connection, insight, and encouragement

  • Struggle with writing resistance and need to find your authentic writing voice

  • Want to recognize that you—exactly who you are, with your unique creative constellation—have what it takes to write the book that's calling from within

“Rose urges her readers to breathe in, lead with the heart, and come to the empowering realization that there is nothing that must be forced onto those stark white pages.... There are plenty of writing 'boot camps' out there that burgeoning authors can throw themselves into headlong; Rose urges her readers to instead breathe in, lead with the heart.... A thoroughly illuminating and instructive take on the craft of writing."—Kirkus Reviews

An Organic Approach to Structuring your Book

a right-brained alternative to outlines

After the Sanctuary, this book helps you organize what has emerged.

Say goodbye to rigid outlines and hello to a way to structure your book that lets your innate creativity flourish!

If you're feeling resistant to traditional book-planning and finding it hard to organize your ideas without losing the juice of your intuitive, creative nature, this approach is for you.

Imagine the joy of writing from the bottom up, allowing your ideas to flow effortlessly onto the page in whatever order they come, then translating them into a Table of Contents that reveals the bigger picture. This organic, interactive process frees you from externally imposed constraints, letting your aliveness and internal interest guide you.

This right-brained approach works perfectly for people who want to write a book but prefer non-linear organization. Whether you already identify as a creative soul—or you'd like to bring complementary ease to your more analytical thinking—your intuitive nature is ready to help you create a structure that works with you, not against you.

"This is fabulous! May your message reach far and wide." — Murshida Taj Inayat, Sufi Guide
